How to create your own game

Creating a custom Photera game is easy! All you need is a Google Sheet with your game’s events and images. No account required.

The quickest way to start:

1. Copy this template
2. Fill in your game details

The template has two sheets:

1. info: Your game’s title, description, etc.
2. events: List of your game events (one per row) with date, title, and image

Sheet Details

The sheets are pretty self-explanatory, but here are some details:

Info Sheet:

• Two columns: name and value
• Each row is a game property:
  • title: Your game’s name
  • image: (optional) Game poster image
  • includes: (optional) Links to other Google Sheets for which events will be included in the game

Events Sheet:

• Each row is a game event
• Three columns:
  • date: When the event happened
  • title: Name of the event
  • image: Picture for the event

Sharing your game

Once you have created your game, you need to make the Google Sheet public

1. Click “Share” (top-right corner)
2. Set “Anyone with the link” to “Viewer”

Copy the link to you sheet and paste it in the form at the top of this page and it will give you a link to your game.

You only need to do this once. Refresh the page as you add more events.

Daily game

The game will automatically show 5 random events from the sheet per day. The game resets every day at midnight of the time zone of the player.

Multiple Languages

To support multiple languages:

• Add extra columns to the events sheet
• Use title.en for English, title.es for Spanish, etc.
